LocsDept.com is a web app to make locations department operations easier and more reliable. It's currently under active development.
The first release is expected in early 2026. It will provide crew management features for Locations such as enrollment, onboarding, scheduling, time reporting, and DTR & timesheet generation.
Future modules will include:
- Logistics: map, schedule, and document tools for finding, securing, and filming locations.
- Communication: secured and archived email management and messaging within the app.
- Tasks: to-do lists shared and assigned across the team.
- Inventory: track your locations assets, rentals and inventory.
- Scouting: organize the scouting process and present options.
- Budget: budgeting tools integrated with the above.

Since this system is currently a beta version, it will be free to use for now. Individual crew members won't ever have to pay. When the system is stable and proves it can deliver on it's promises, productions will require a subscription to create new projects.

This system is built by Ezekiel (Erik) Wool. He knows from his 40+ years of IT development and operations experience that a successful software system cannot be built without deep domain knowledge. A decade of Locations experience from PA to ALM has given him a visceral understanding of the criticality of rock-solid planning, and the demand for nimble adaptation in an unpredictable and unforgiving enviroment.
